Alex Inskip

Research Assistant

Alex is a Research Assistant in the Evidence Synthesis Group, working within the Innovation Observatory aligned to the Information Research Programme. 

He contributes to a wide range of projects across all of the IO programmes of work, including the Medicine Programme’s horizon scanning activity, the Data Science & AI Programme’s development of AI tools to detect, monitor and report on new health innovations and the Newcastle NICE External Assessment Centre.  

Alex has a master’s degree in Information and Library Management. He is an experienced information specialist with over 10 years’ experience in the Higher Education library sector, delivering teaching and support for literature searching, bibliographic management and general information skills. 

Alex is interested in information retrieval and transformation, for example, methods of balancing search sensitivity and specificity.
