Fernando is an Evidence Synthesis Analyst at NIHR Innovation Observatory. He has a Bachelor in Pharmacy (2011) with an MBA in Economics and Health Technology Assessment (2014), a Master (2014) and PhD degree in Therapeutic Innovation (2018) in Brazil. Part of his PhD project was developed together with the Department of Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) at Glasgow University, where was a visiting researcher for six months sponsored by CAPES (a Brazilian federal agency of the Ministry of Education).
Before joining NIHRIO, Fernando worked as a consultant for the National Committee for Health Technology Incorporation into Brazilian Health System (Conitec) at the Department of Management and Incorporation of Health Technologies (DGITS). His primary research interest is in health technology assessment (including rapid review, systematic review, meta-analysis), decision modelling, economic analysis, and budget impact.
