Get Involved

Given the aims of the Innovation Observatory and our programmes, and the fact that we are publicly funded by the NIHR it is vitally important that everyone has an opportunity to have a say in the work we undertake.

The opportunities we have for members of the public to become involved in projects being carried out are listed below alongside engagement and outreach events that we are running or involved with.

Those who become involved in such activities (potential and current patients or health and social care service users, carers, family members and practitioners) will be offered training, and as plausible be reimbursed for their time and compensated for transport costs or expenses. You don’t need any special, prior knowledge to be involved just an interest in the work we undertake and lived experiences as relevant to the specific opportunities being advertised.

We are collaborating across NIHR infrastructure and with the North East voluntary sector to support sustainable relationships with public groups. We are also looking to establish a PPI group that will be integral to the Innovation Observatory’s work and its governance. If you would like to get involved, please contact us using the form below.
