Dr Pauline Addis
Research Associate
Pauline is a Research Associate. She works primarily in evidence synthesis to gather, analyse and report intelligence to national stakeholders and international agencies.
Pauline holds three degrees (BSc, MSc and PhD) in the field of equine science, which taught her the value of a rigorous approach to research and how to communicate the findings to a range of audiences. She then spent 11 years leading on impact across Newcastle University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, where she developed her skills in gathering and synthesising evidence from a wide range of sources. She led on producing 60 impact case studies across two iterations of the Research Excellence Framework (REF), and for 18 months she co-led a UK-wide impact special interest group. After a 6-month part-time secondment in 2022, Pauline started full-time at the Innovation Observatory in January 2023. Her particular area of interest is demonstrating the value of a particular organisation or innovation and how this translates to tangible benefits.
