Nicole O'Connor
Research Assistant
Nicole is a Research Assistant in Evidence Synthesis and works on a range of evidence synthesis projects, including Cochrane systematic reviews of interventions, evidence gap maps and priority-setting projects.
She also works on two key areas of the Health Technology Assessment pathway on behalf of NICE: Topic Selection and Technology Appraisals. Nicole writes technology briefings to facilitate timely access to medicines for patients in the UK. She is also part of the Newcastle Technology Assessment Review team who appraises the clinical and cost-effectiveness of technologies submitted to NICE for reimbursement. She is particularly interested in highly specialised technologies for rare diseases.
