Dr Saleh Mohamed

Research Associate - Health Data Science

Saleh is a Research Associate aligned to the Data Science and AI programme. His work involves conducting research in health data science with particular focus on combining and integrating evidence synthesis methods with intelligent Natural Language Programming (NLP) techniques to develop new translational insight. He is also involved in the design, development, and deployment of novel AI-based tools to support Innovation Observatory processes and external facing outputs. 

Saleh holds a BSc Hons in Computing Science, MSc in Cloud Computing and Big Data, and a PhD in data stream processing and deployment on cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure, all from Newcastle University.

Saleh’s previous experience includes supporting SMEs on data-driven innovations. This entails generating actionable insight from SMEs data through application of machine and deep learning techniques. His current research interests include cloud computing, information retrieval, natural language understanding and application of deep learning techniques on NLP.
